Have you ever tried doubling your yarn to create a new colour palette?

I've started making a blanket using the corner-to-corner (C2C) crochet stitch. By combining two different yarn colours, I can create three colour variations:

Orange and white combined
White
Orange

I'm using Marriner Double Knit yarn, which is normally suitable for a 4mm crochet hook. However, since I'm working with two strands held together, I've switched to my 6.5mm Tulip crochet hook, which works perfectly with the increased yarn thickness.

The result is a yarn that feels noticeably thicker than a typical Aran weight, making it ideal for a cosy, chunky blanket.
